About
Hello! I'm Vikrant, a product designer based in Slough, UK.
My journey as a designer hasn’t been linear, but looking back, the dots connect. I’ve had a fascination with visual design since I was a kid. I vividly remember playing around in MS Paint and even pretending to design websites in MS Word! As I got older, I taught myself how to use design software and spent years dabbling in graphic design. Fun fact: I once spotted one of my old logo designs while driving on a motorway!
When it came to choosing a career, I found myself in marketing – as I was looking for a field that combined creativity with business. That’s where I honed my understanding of people, messaging, and the broader customer experience. Even as a marketer, I often stepped into help with design-related tasks, thanks to the skills and design-thinking I’d developed up over the years. Because of that, I got to work closely with UX designers on projects including user research, journey mapping, developer collaboration, wire framing, and creating digital content.
Eventually, I realised I wanted to do more than support design – I wanted to DO design. So, I decided to transition my career and retrained through the UX Design Institute. Now, I’m looking forward to making an impact in my first, official design role!
